What you can do to help (other than donate):
First of all, become a member of Friends of WikiLeaks at wlfriends.org, then sign up to our Twitter feed or Facebook feed to stay up to date.
Bloggers/internet users: (1) Add the WikiLeaks donations fundraising banner to your site with the following instructions: http://wikileaks.org/wlnet.txt. (2) Create awareness over what WikiLeaks has revealed in its five years of existence, refute the smears, dispel the misconceptions, set the record straight. Demand from the editors good, fact-based journalism when it is lacking.
IT experts: Structure content, torrent, search functions, research the content
Graphic designers: Visualise database patterns, create illustrations, make complex content viewable and understandable to the general public.
Lawyers: WikiLeaks wants to litigate in different jurisdictions against the finance institutions that have put up an unlawful and arbitrary blockade to cripple WikiLeaks. Litigation proceedings have already started in the EU, and are underway in several other countries. If you think you can help, contact us on litigjur@mail.be and let us know what your specialty is, how you can help, and how much time you can dedicate to lending your support to WikiLeaks. Put LITIGATION + your country in the subject line.
Academics: Provide analysis of how WikiLeaks material impacts the production of knowledge.
Researchers: Use the archive to research your essays, dissertations, and theses. For the Cablegate material there is an easy to use interface at http://cablegatesearch.net/
Finance experts: make the arbitrary and unlawful nature of the VISA, MasterCard, PayPal, Bank of America, and Western Union blockade against WikiLeaks known and understandable to the general public. What is the impact on competition laws in the EU, for example, and is there any real alternative to PayPal for internet payments? Is accountability in the private sector far-fetched when private companies are executing political decisions?
Fundraising campaigns: Benefit parties, fundraising dinners. The proceeds of these can be donated through various methods. See http://wikileaks.org/support for how to use these methods.
Journalists: Mine the content of the material published over the past five years.
